2026 Festival Overview

Ensembles and more!

Just Chamber Music (JCM) is an eight-day chamber music festival for aspiring music students (elementary school through pre-college). Students are placed in small ensembles, and receive daily intensive coaching from our faculty and guest artists, participate in performance classes, and the festival concert. Attendance at all rehearsals, classes and concert is required. JCM 2026 will be held June 15-18 and June 22-25. The festival Concert is on June 25, 2026.

How it works — Registration & Tuition

The comprehensive fee for the Overture program is $395.00 and is paid in two parts: (1) The registration fee is $130.00, and (2) the tuition fee is $265.00.

The comprehensive fee for the Conservatory program is $495.00 and is paid in two parts:  (1) The registration fee is $130.00, and (2) the tuition fee is $365.00.

✓ Students may apply individually, or as a pre-formed group. No chamber music experience is necessary, and instrumental skill requirements can be found here under More Information.

A recommendation form from a private or school instructor is required with your application. Click here for string teacher application and here for wind teachers. *Note for Pianists: Please have your teacher submit a letter of recommendation to: info@justchambermusic.com in lieu of a recommendation form.

An audition video is required for student assessment and placement. Requirements are:

Overture Ensembles:

1) Two 2 octave scales of your choice – quarter note = 72
2) Solo piece of your choice - 2 to 3 minutes.

Conservatory Ensembles:

1) Two 3 octave scales of your choice – quarter note = 92
2) Solo piece of your choice – 2 to 3 minutes.

Schedule for classes

JCM 2026 will be held June 15-18 and June 22-25. The festival concert is on June 25, 2026.

All rehearsals will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E. Stuart St., Fort Collins, CO. Students will need to bring instruments, music and water bottle every day.

What a typical day of classes entails: (Schedule, etc.)

Overture Ensembles

Chamber Groups:
Rehearse daily, receive at least sixteen coaching sessions, and have the opportunity to be coached in a performance class.  All chamber groups will have an opportunity to perform at least once in the daily performance class, as well as in the final concert.
Students are encouraged to bring a snack from home to eat during the break.

*Topics: Guest Artist, Dr. Rose Wollman will present our Topics class this year. The date and topic matter to be announced shortly. Overture students will be invited to stay for the 4:00-5:00 class.

Don’t forget your soccer ball or Frisbee!
It is also a festival tradition to participate in a soccer scrimmage or other activities during the break.


Concerts

Festival Concert: June 25, 2026
